How Does ClearCorrect Work? And Why Did We Choose It?

ClearCorrect is one of the most popular forms of clear aligner treatment, having helped hundreds of thousands of patients achieve straighter teeth since 2006. Being both virtually invisible and comfortable compared to traditional metal braces, it’s one of the most effective, accessible and discreet forms of orthodontic treatment.

But how does ClearCorrect work? And why did we choose it as our preferred clear aligner treatment?

How Does ClearCorrect Work?

ClearCorrect’s clear aligner treatment requires the patient to wear a series of graduated aligners that gently move the teeth over time. These custom clear aligners are moulded to the patient’s dental impression so that they wrap around the teeth snugly. The aligners apply just enough pressure to cause the teeth, muscles and bone in the mouth to move into a new position. After the course of treatment, the patient is left with a straighter smile, and will be less at risk of future oral health problems.

What Is the Process of Getting ClearCorrect Treatment?

There are six steps in the process of getting clear aligners with ClearCorrect. Here’s what a typical patient’s journey will look like:

Step 1

The patient will consult one of our expert dentists or orthodontists for an initial examination. The clinician will decide whether or not ClearCorrect is the most suitable form of orthodontic treatment for the case.

Step 2

Once ClearCorrect is confirmed as the best choice of treatment, the dentist or orthodontist will:

  • Scan the patient’s teeth
  • Decide how they should move
  • Forward a prescription to ClearCorrect.

Step 3

ClearCorrect will manufacture the patient’s series of aligners, which will range from crooked to straight. The aligners are shipped to the patient’s doctor to ensure they fit properly.

Step 4

The patient must wear the aligners for 22 hours a day, except when eating, drinking fluids other than water, tooth brushing, and cleaning the aligners. If the patient fails to wear the aligners for the instructed 22 hours a day, the straightening process will stop, resulting in prolonged treatment.

Step 5

The trays are switched every few weeks for the next aligner, which will keep adding pressure, gradually moving the teeth into a better position.

Step 6

The treatment will continue until the patient is left with a straight, healthy smile!

What Conditions Can ClearCorrect Treat?

ClearCorrect is an effective orthodontic treatment for most forms of malocclusion, including:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Crowded teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Open bite

It’s worth noting that ClearCorrect alone may not be the best course of treatment for more complex cases. You can speak to one of our expert dentists or orthodontists to find out if you’re a good candidate for clear aligner treatment.

How Long Will Treatment Last and How Much Does It Cost?

How long your clear aligner treatment last depends on both the severity of your malocclusion and your commitment to wearing the aligners 22 hours a day. Likewise, the cost will vary from patient to patient, and is entirely dependent on the complexity of the case. An expert dentist or orthodontist should be able to provide you with a reasonable estimate of your treatment time and cost when you book an appointment

Why Did We Choose ClearCorrect?

There are a number of reasons why All About Smiles chose ClearCorrect over other clear aligner providers. Here are just some of them.

Superior Clarity

ClearCorrect aligners are manufactured with patented ClearQuartz™ technology. This means they have an extremely thin, flexible design, which offers superior clarity. Most people choose clear aligners for their discreetness, and we’re proud to offer our patients a treatment option that shows off their smile.

Effective Stain and Crack-Resistance

Another advantage of ClearCorrect’s ClearQuartz™ technology means the aligners boast outstanding crack resistance and exceptional stain resistance. This is helped by 3 layers of tough material which have been expertly engineered to reduce wear without compromising on comfort. The outer shell of material has low porosity, which minimizes the chances of the aligners staining.

Extra Comfortable

It’s no secret that clear aligners are more comfortable than traditional braces, but ClearCorrect’s  ClearQuartz™ technology takes this a step further. With elastic layers that improve translation and rotation, ClearCorrect’s clear aligners offer superior flexibility, tooth adaptation and comfort. To add to this, ClearCorrect aligners also go through a polishing process to remove any rough edges which could otherwise cause the wearer discomfort.

Approved By Experts

ClearCorrect treatment must always be administered and supervised by a registered dentist or orthodontist. This makes them a safer and more reliable teeth straightening option than ‘at-home’ clear aligners.

A Health-Focused Approach

As a brand, ClearCorrect takes a health-focused approach to teeth straightening, whereas other brands and DIY clear aligner providers are primarily concerned with the cosmetic side. This health-led approach means that patients will not only love their straighter smile after treatment - they’ll enjoy better oral health too.

Is ClearCorrect Right For You?

There’s no way to tell if ClearCorrect treatment is suitable for you until you speak to a registered dentist or orthodontist. If you’re interested in having your teeth straightened and would like to discuss your options, book an appointment to one of our experts.
